What types of listings are allowed?
This site allows you three main types of listings: equipment, sale items, and services. Most listings are catered towards the film business, but items for sale can be in any category.
Do I have to pay to use KitRental.com?
KitRental.com is absolutely free to all users who are viewing listings and looking for rental items. However, if you are looking to list your item on KitRental.com, you can start a free trial or sign up for the plan of your choice on this page.
Commissions & Fees
There are absolutely NO commissions or fees for renting or buying an item listed on KitRental.com. All of the content is absolutely free for anyone to view. The only charge is for members to list their items within our directory.
Who runs KitRental.com?
KitRental.com was started by Ben Oshman, a I.A.T.S.E. Local 52 Prop Master. He wanted to create a way for crew members to easily and affordably advertise their equipment in a highly trafficked directory.

What category should I list in?
You can put a listing in any category you want. We have divided content by the major crew departments on a film set. We also have a Sale category where you can buy and sell items from other members. In addition, there is a Services category where you can list your film related services, certifications, or abilities (ie: welder, aerial lift operator, seamstress, trash removal, etc.).
Can I request a category?
We are always looking to add more categories. Contact Us if you want to add a new category.
How do I register?
Registration is easy. Just visit this page to get started. You can start with a free trial or select a plan of your choice.
I cannot complete my registration.
If you are having problems registering we are here to help. Just Contact Us and we will guide you through setting up your account.
I never got a confirmation email
If you have not received a confirmation email, please do the following:

My payment cannot be processed.
If you have started to register and can not finish because your payment information cannot be processed, please carefully check that you are entering all the correct information.

How long does a free trial last?
A free trial allows you to list up to 5 items for three months. After that you can sign up for a plan to continue having your items shown.
Are there any discounts available?
Yes! If you chose not to do a free trial and join immediately, you can use the coupon code EARLYBIRD at checkout to get 10% off your plan for the first year.
How will I be billed?
Billing is automatically processed each month on the credit card that you used during registration. You will see the charge on your credit card statement as "KITRENTAL 2017234624 NJ"
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards. When you register you will be asked to enter your credit card information. You will be billed monthly.
How do I renew?
Renewal is automatic each month. You can still alter your plan at any time.
How can I update my credit card information?
If your credit card information changes you must update it immediately. Failure to update your billing information can result in all of your listings being hidden until your account becomes active again.
Login to the site, and click on Account in the Control Panel:
Then click on the tab that says Billing Details. Enter your new credit card information and click Apply. Then you are done!
How do I add a listing?
To add a listing you must become a member of KitRental.com. You can join here.
Once registered, login to the site. Then click Add a Listing in the navigation bar:
You can then select the category you want to list in, enter your listing's details, and submit it. It will appear on the site immediately.
If you receive a message saying you have "No Listings Left," then you need to upgrade your account to add more listings.
When will my listing appear?
Listings appear as soon as you add them. If you are having trouble viewing finding your listing, you can always login to your account and click on My Listings in the Control Panel.
How many listings can I have?
The amount of listings you can have is controlled by the plan that you choose. If you run out of listings, just upgrade your plan.
How can I edit my listing?
Login to your account and click My Listings in the Control Panel. Find the listing you want to edit and click on the blue Edit button.
How can I delete my listing?
Login to your account and click My Listings in the Control Panel. Find the listing you want to delete and click on the blue Delete button.
What types of photos can be uploaded in a listing?
Photos must be less than 3 megabytes (MB) and be in one of the following formats: .JPG .JPEG .TIFF .GIF .PNG
Can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription to KitRental.com at any time. The cancellation will take effect at the end of that month's billing cycle. We do not offer partial month refunds. All you need to do is Contact Us and say that you want to cancel.
How do I change my subscription?
Login to the site, and click on Account in the Control Panel:
Click the button that says Change Your Membership, select your new plan, and click Continue. You will be asked to re-enter your credit card information. Then click Pay with Credit Card and you are done!
How do I change my password or email?
1 - Login to the site, and click on Profile & Password in the Control Panel:
2 - Click on the Update My Profile button at the top:
3 - Then select the tab for Username & Password:
4 - Enter your new information and click the Update button.
How do I change my username?
The only way to change your username is to Contact Us. We will verify your identity before making any changes.
How do I order an item?
This site is a directory for rental items. Every item will have contact information for the owner on the listing. You must contact the owner to rent or buy an item. Do not contact us for such inquiries.
